or sitting on a desk or table ...

made today, this is one of my new quotes in the tag range.
this quote, although a little melancholy
is so truthful ...
but really it is just about enduring love
something i know a lot about (cue violins) ...

and then there was clay...

today clay work production began for this year !!!

with soooooo many more to come (as orders are aplenty)
we felt it worth preserving the moment...

the past few weeks,
although not in the studio making this part of my work,
i have been designing, drawing, writing...

this years christmas bird has been designed and
the cutter is being made already...
( crazy, i've only just taken down my tree ! )
there are new quotes for the ceramic tags
and some other new items that will be
revealed soon...

I have also been working on a few non-clay items,
this has meant working with
a number of inspiring people for the different pieces...
what is being created, and who is helping i will
share with you soon...

and when i find patches of blue i have been working on
new poems for my next book...
( thank you to those who emailed with congrats, it meant a lot ! )

i thought i was having a break this month
but, as it is with a creative life you are never really
far away from your art...
( i know my heart doesn't let me go too far away from it anyway )

new year news...

there's a reason for piles
of paper and journals scattered all over my home
on tables, shelves and floors... a lovely reason...

i have just signed my second book deal with
murdoch books
for a follow up book of poetry to count me the stars.
due for release in march next year, this new book (so far untitled)
will have a similar feel, size, and i hope - spirit...

i feel very blessed and humbled
that my work has been received so well.
i am so thankful to murdoch books,
to all the people who write to me about how my work has touched them,
to those closest to me who support me in kindness,
love and unfailing friendship,
and those who buy my work, giving it a home.

i've known for a little while that the new book is happening
the flying visit to sydney late last year
was not only to see crowded house
but also for a meeting with my publisher...

but now the contract is signed and it's
time for the hard work to begin
and, the reason for this post :
it is also time to share this news...

finding words...

in old journals...

words of love and longing amongst the pages
& out-of-focus stories between the tattered covers...

and somewhere, somehow, amongst the scribbles
poems reveal themselves to me

happy new year...

i am still having some down time
after the end of the busiest year (thus far) for my work...

a year past that bought such growth in my business,
the release of my book,
and set in motion: some new adventures
(that will be revealed as this year unfolds)

so let's see what lies ahead...
let's hope for us all it is
joy and beauty, health and happiness,
strength and truth...
